I.P. Hazard business letters, 1831-1849.

The collection consists of letters to Isaac Peace Hazard regarding cotton and cloth sales and shipments. Many of the letters have notes of Hazard's replies and account with him. A number of the letters concern "Negro cloth," a coarse, unbleached cotton used for slave's clothing; this cloth is also known as "osnaburgs" or "oznaburgs."
